Quick install of a LAMP server on Ubuntu

In search of cheaper hosting and a more compatible operating software to play with on open source projects I have been installing and configuring Linux. My favourite is Open Suse because of its polish but Ubuntu is the most popular so it is easiest to find patches and fixes for. Ubuntu also wins for the fastest setup steps for a LAMP server.

To install a LAMP server (plus many other standard Debian configurations including mail, DNS, print servers etc.)

$: sudo apt-get install tasksel</pre>
$: sudo tasksel

Run the LAMP server installation. Note that the default site directory is /var/www

$: sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart</li>
$: sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin</li>
$: sudo apt-get install mysql-client libmysqlclient-dev #To prevent errors installing mysql2 gem</li>
</ul>

I wish I knew how to usu Ubuntu’s Juju to configure my computer but my attempts didn’t seem to work.
